SASSA social welfare payment dates for December 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has revealed the payment dates for its 27 million social welfare beneficiaries for December 2024.

As the festive season draws near, millions of grant recipients can expect to receive their monthly payments during the first week of December.

SASSA Grant Payment Dates of December 2024

Older Persons Grant – Wednesday, December 3
Disability Grant – Thursday, December 4
Children’s Grant – Friday, December 5

SASSA Grant Amount of December 2024

The amounts for various grants are as follows:

Older Persons Grant (60-75 years), Disability Grant, and Care Dependency Grant: R2,190 each.
Older Persons (75+ years) and War Veterans: R2,210.
Foster Care Grant: R1,180.
Child Support Grant: R530.
Grant in Aid: R530.
Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant: R370.

There isn’t an official payment date for the SRD grant, but recipients usually get it around the 25th of each month. For December, SASSA plans to process SRD payments between December 17 and 23, so recipients should receive them before December 25.

SASSA advises grant recipients to keep their contact details up to date to ensure they get SMS notifications about their payments. This helps prevent any delays or missed communications.
