SASSA has asked social grant beneficiaries to complete their annual life certification so their payments are not interrupted.

The agency wants people to use its digital platform because it makes the process easier.
The agency said beneficiaries who can access digital services should use its self-service platform to make things simpler & avoid having to visit offices in person.

SASSA said beneficiaries who can use the self-service portal should complete their life certification every year. The agency explained that while annual certification is recommended for everyone who can do it some beneficiaries might be selected for immediate verification and will need to respond within a specific time period.
SASSA said that when a beneficiary is specifically identified for immediate e-Life Certification they must comply within the given timeframe regardless of their grant type or date of birth.
SASSA warned that delays in responding to these requests could interrupt grant payments and asked recipients to act quickly & keep their personal information updated.
The agency urged beneficiaries to respond promptly to life certification requests & make sure their information is current to avoid payment disruptions.
The agency also highlighted its digital option & encouraged recipients to use the online system instead of waiting in long queues at offices.
SASSA said people can avoid queues & do their life certification from anywhere at any time.

The agency added that e-Life Certification is a self-service digital platform that lets beneficiaries complete their life certification from home and encouraged those with access to the required technology to use the service.
This initiative is part of SASSA’s wider effort to modernise services and improve efficiency while making sure grants are paid to the right recipients.
